Mother
when this was originally written, it did not have a title. the title was added much later.
The name they give you is mother
Often Mom for short
But where were you in times of need
Instead of helping
You gave the hurt
Instead of protecting
You turned my over
To the hands that scarred so deep
All the time knowing from experience
The horrors I would reap.
How could you hurt a little one
A precious child I was
Professing love to all who look
You hide the terrors
So as none to see
The house you keep.
And now you turn the blame to me
Accusations at every turn
Absolve your soul
Push the shame to me.
A little child
I willingly took it all
Blindly trusting those who “care”
Now the pain and fear
Where have you gone
You gladly shared the nightmare
But now you’re no where near
